Juan Carlos

(1938- ) General Francisco Franco names Juan Carlos as the next head of state in 1969. He became King on November 22, 1975 two days after the death of Franco. He is the head-of-state and commander-in-chief of the Spanish Armed Forces. Photograph, 8×10 B&W, close-up full face pose very boldly signed. Juan Carlos as King makes frequent use of the Autopen. This is an early photo signed in 1970 not long after Franco announced that Juan Carlos would be the next head-of-state. Photographs containing a genuine signature of Juan Carlos are not common and this is an excellent example. Collectors notations on reverse.
